The former president shared the news in a Facebook post on Sunday, following the ceremony held at St Peter Anglican Cathedral on Passion Sunday, the fifth Sunday in Lent. Reflecting on the honour, Akufo-Addo said the recognition came after a period of prayer and contemplation. Akufo-Addo pledged to remain committed to the Church and its mission, promising to continue living a life grounded in faith and service. He expressed gratitude to the diocesan bishop, Felix Odei Annancy, the officiating clergy, and the wider Anglican community in Ghana and beyond for the honour bestowed on him. The installation places Akufo-Addo among distinguished lay individuals recognised by the Church for their contributions to society and their continued dedication to advancing its mission.
