MANILA, Philippines — A doctor working at the Philippine Heart Center (PHC) has passed away after battling the coronavirus disease or COVID-19. Dr. Israel Bactol, an adult cardiology fellow, died on Saturday at 10:11 a.m., the hospital announced on its website. Abanilla said that Bactol did not have direct contact with coronavirus patients and was not in any of the COVID-19 wards. As of Sunday, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines rose to 380 with a death toll of 25.
