The most important polling stations have been identified in Habiganj district. Of those, 1,621 centres have been earmarked as important as they are risky and the remaining 1,184 are marked as general centres. As many as 293 polling centres are within the jurisdiction of Sylhet Metropolitan Police and 202 centres are marked as risky. Law enforcement members have taken up numerous initiatives to ensure security in the risky polling centres. Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner, Paritosh Ghosh, said extensive arrangements have been made to maintain law and order in these important polling stations.
