106-year-old war hero thanked with vintage motorcycle display

Donald Rose fought across Africa and Europe in the Second World WarA decorated military veteran has been given a once-in-a-lifetime treat with a special visit from a regional motorcycle club. Donald Rose - who is 106 - fought in North Africa, France and Germany during the Second World War with the 7th Armoured Division. He joined the army aged just 23, having been born in the First World War, and quickly progressed to becoming a sniper. But both before and after the war he loved motorbikes, often tinkering with and riding vintage bikes across the country. After bad weather postponed the planned visit, Donald was visited by seven vintage bikes earlier this week including Triumphs and AFS bikes, which he "absolutely loved".
