A 13-year-old boy was burnt to death on Monday night in a fire at a children's home in Kiamumbi area, Kahawa West. Seven other children were rescued but property of an unknown value was destroyed. The fire was caused by a candle that had been burning in the room where the children were sleeping. The boy's remains were found long after it had been contained, and taken to a mortuary. Police said the private establishment had two sections - one for the eight children and another for 10.
