13-year-old charged with murder after Dunedin bus hub stabbing


Photo: Stuff/Hamish McNeillyA 13-year-old boy accused of the murder of a 16-year-old at a bus stop has appeared in Youth Court in Dunedin. The Trinity Catholic College student was attacked on Great King Street shortly after 3pm on Thursday. The 13-year-old appeared before Judge Michael Turner, who transferred the matter to the Dunedin High Court for a first appearance on 11 June. Emergency services were called to the Dunedin Bus Hub, on Great King Street, just after 3pm Thursday as students were heading home from school. Otago Coastal Area Commander Inspector Marty Gray said security staff were working at the bus hub when the incident took place.
