16-year-old girl’s suicide bid foiled


more-inA 16-year-old girl from Tirupur was prevented from making a suicide bid at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Wednesday. The incident happened around 11.30 a.m. when the girl had come to the hospital along with her mother to visit her father who is undergoing treatment following a self immolation bid. Male nursing assistant students and K. Rajendraprasad, Grade-I constable attached to Selvapuram station (Crime), who had come to the hospital for treatment, approached the girl and advised not to jump and foiled the suicide bid. It was learnt that girl’s father attempted suicide allegedly after coming to know about her love affair. The girl later told to doctors that she decided to take the extreme step for having the reason for father’s suicide bid.
