Photo : BSSDHAKA, April 2, 2026 (BSS) – The 19th World Autism Awareness Day was observed today at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) through a series of programmes highlighting the importance of dignity, rights and equal opportunities for individuals with autism. The speakers also underscored the need to enhance education and social rehabilitation for individuals with autism, raise parental awareness, reduce social isolation among children, and strengthen awareness campaigns through mass media. The core message of the day was to ensure respect, rights and equal opportunities for people with autism. They also called for increased global efforts to raise awareness, eliminate discrimination and ensure social inclusion for individuals with autism.
