The woman from Tangail came to Kurigram looking for her relativesPolice have arrested two men over a case filed for gang-raping a woman in Chilmari upazila of Kurigram. The accused Ranju and Jel Hoq were arrested and sent to jail following a court order on Thursday. Kurigram Superintendent of Police Mehedul Karim said: “The woman filed a case with the police station accusing four men on Thursday, based on which we arrested the two.”According to the case statement, the woman living in Tangail, came to Kurigram looking for her relatives. The prime accused¸ Ranju, took her to a deserted char area with a promise to help her, and then raped her in turns with his associates. Police sent the woman to a local hospital for medical tests, while the arrest for the remaining suspects is ongoing, said the police official.
