Regional News of Wednesday, 6 June 2018Source: ghananewsagency.org2018 BECE progresses peacefully in Western RegionStudents in an exam hallThe 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) commenced in earnest within the Western Region without any notable mishap. The Region, this year, presented 53, 486 candidates including 28,225 boys and 25,263 girls representing 1655 schools writing in 177 centers. In the Sekondi/Takoradi alone, 7763 candidates were supposed to write the examination. The Takoradi Senior High School, the Bompeh School, Ghana Secondary Technical, the Saint John’s school where the GNA visited did not record any challenges with regards to the examination. Ms Catherine Andoh-Mensah the Metropolitan Education Public Relations Officer, urged all candidates to eat well, dress well avoid sending foreign materials to the examination hall.
