Bauchi State chapter of the Northern Christians Youth Democratic Assembly of Nigeria (NCYDAN) has dissociated itself from media reports that the State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has endorsed the 2019 reelection bid of the State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar. In a press statement signed by the Speaker, Northern Christian Youth Democratic Assembly Of Nigeria, Comrade Daure David Yankoli made available to Press men on Sunday, 30th December, 2018 the organization disassociated themselves from the endorsement of the Governor by Rev Joshua Ray Maina, Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria Bauchi State Chapter during a Christmas Visit to the Government House, Bauchi. The release contained that, “the attention of Northern Christian Youth Democratic Assembly Of Nigeria has been drawn to the news issued by CAN to media Organizations endorsing Governor Of Bauchi State for Re-election in 2019 general elections.”The Bauchi State Speaker of NCYDAN according to the release condemns and disassociate itself from the said endorsement as such doesn’t confirm or Carry the views of Christians majority in the state, and by extension Stated that CAN or Christianity is not a Political Organisation. He reiterated his displeasure to the endorsement and commitment to ensure justice and inclusive Governance stating, “We are countering this information aimed at undermining the Christiandome. We will not our arms to watch few selfish individuals tarnish and befallen the image of Christians in the name of Politics.
