The Jeep Wrangler has addressed a longstanding crash-test concern after structural updates helped the SUV remain upright during the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) driver-side small overlap test. The tipping behaviour resulted in a marginal safety rating. Gladiator models built after October 2025 likewise earn an acceptable rating in the small overlap test. To qualify for one of the institute’s safety awards, vehicles must achieve a Good rating in both driver-side and passenger-side small overlap tests, along with strong performance in other evaluation categories.
