29 parents separated from their children and deported last year cross U.S. border to request asylum

The 29 parents were among those deported without their children, who remain in the United States in shelters, in foster homes or with relatives. About 430 of the parents were deported without their children, and at least 200 of them remain separated today. Some waited in the hope that U.S. courts would allow them to return to the United States. But the cases of about 430 parents deported without their children were particularly difficult. Al Otro Lado worked with the ACLU to identify the separated parents in Central America, but the ACLU was not involved in bringing the 29 parents back to the border.
