Smartphones and social media allow us to interact with friends and strangers on a 24-hour basis. According to the American Press Institute, 1 in 5 Millennials say they now connect with a broader range of people because of social media. But beyond the warm and fuzzies of connection, ambitious millennials have found ways to leverage this generational shift. She runs the business with a group of friends who have been able to leverage their different strengths to find a balance between friendship and entrepreneurship. I talked to her about what it means to build a business that is community-based and how organic growth, collaboration and prioritizing value have led to the CCNYC’s success.
