The crusade is scheduled between June 30 and July 2, 2018. According to the General Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Rev Emmanuel T. Barrigah, the three-day crusade is to raise people’s consciousness on the grave social choices of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) rights in Ghana. He stated, however, that, although they will show love to gays and lesbians, they won't support its legalization. Same-sex relations are illegal in 36 Commonwealth member states, including nine that have a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
