Photo: BSSRAJSHAHI, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) - The Safe Food Court has fined three hotels and restaurants Tk 5 lakh here for keeping unhygienic environment and using sub-standard ingredients in food items. During the inspection, Nanking Darbar Hall Restaurant at the C&B intersection was fined Tk one lakh for using expired burnt oil, fungus-infested wooden cutting boards, substandard chili powder, keeping open dustbins, maintaining an unhygienic kitchen, and failing to discard unlabeled products. At the same location, Rana Sweet Shop was found to have expired sour yogurt and sauce, burnt oil, spoiled lentils and jaggery, and rotten sweets. The establishment was also fined Tk one lakh for failing to discard unlabeled products. At Laxmipur intersection, Tripti Hotel and Restaurant was fined Tk three lakh through summary trial for keeping substandard lentils and sauce, burnt oil, rotten peanuts, spoiled milk cream, open dustbins, non-iodized salt, and for failing to discard unlabeled products.
