The Exorcist is set to return to screens almost 50 years after the original R-rated film shocked audiences with its head-turning portrayal of a young girl possessed by the Devil. Universal Pictures and its streaming service Peacock have spent $400 million on a new trilogy, with the first instalment due for release on Friday October 13, 2023.
