KUSHTIA, Feb 21, 2026 (BSS) – Five people were killed in a head-on collision between a gas-carrying lorry and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw on the Kushtia bypass road. The accident occurred today around 2 pm in front of the Kushtia Store Fuel Pump, according to eyewitnesses. Officer-in-Charge (Acting) of Kushtia Highway Police Abu Obayed told BSS that the CNG auto-rickshaw was completely crushed in the impact. Dr. Hossain Imam, resident doctor at Kushtia General Hospital, confirmed the deaths of critically injured women who passed away during treatment. Highway police have seized the lorry and CNG auto-rickshaw and have launched an investigation into the cause of the collision.
