Two persons — a retired government employee and a labourer — were killed after getting trapped under the rubble of a 50-year-old house which collapsed during renovation work in Taimur Nagar area of Okhla on Friday morning. One of the deceased has been identified as Dhruv Kumar, who retired from the labour department and owned the house. “The labourer was traced at 11.20 am and the other victim was found at 12.10pm,” said an NDRF official who led the rescue operation. Officials of South Delhi Municipal Corporation said that the building was old but not dangerous. “It was a 50 -year-old house which was being renovated by the owner,” a municipality official said.
