Not fewer than 5000 beneficiaries in Gombe state have received their credit cards as the State Governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya flagged off the 3G/ YESSO programme in Kwami, Dukku LGA of the state on Wednesday. The Governor expressed confidence that the Gombe Goes Green (3G ) project will help in mitigating the effects of desertification being experienced in some parts of the state in addition to creating jobs for the people particularly the youths and women. The over 27,000 beneficiaries selected through Community Based Targeting (CBT) programs across the state are expected to nurture the trees being planted in their respective areas to maturity. “This is the sixth time Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya is coming to Dukku within six months of assuming office, with each visit coming with a people-oriented project”, an elated Emir said. 2667 people will receive their credit cards in Kwami while over 3000 are to benefit in Dukku with over 200 million Naira disbursed to the beneficiaries in the two local government areas as contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the Governor.
