Star Wars gonna Star Wars. As I noted way before it was cool, the "part 2" Star Wars movies tend to make around 30-32% less than the "part 1" Star Wars movies. As the first present-tense Star Wars movie in 32 years, The Force Awakens was something of a lightning in a bottle moment. And, presuming Disney really does try to make Star Wars movies forever, The Force Awakens was the last "first" Star Wars movie ever. So too now must Walt Disney and Lucasfilm's Star Wars share the stage with the MCU, Fast and Furious (which is arguably Star Wars for overseas audiences), Pixar, Illumination and all kinds of other would-be event films.
