670 MW West Tripoli Emergency Electricity Station civil work startsBy Sami Zaptia. London, 20 May 2021:Civil works and excavations started at the 670 MW West Tripoli Emergency Electricity Plant Project, Libya’s General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) reported yesterday. The project comes within the framework of GECOL’s efforts to raise the production capacity and eliminate the generation deficit in the country’s electrical network. The project is being implemented by Germany’s Siemens and Turkey’s Enka. GECOL reported that these emergency projects are expected to enter the electrical network and ‘‘completely end the electricity crisis’’ in March 2022.
