7 killed in eastern Cuba bus crash, 2 Canadians hospitalized


Seven people died and five were in critical condition after the crash of a bus carrying tourists and local travellers in eastern Cuba. State media reported the bus carrying 18 Cubans and 22 tourists crashed Thursday afternoon on a road between the cities of Baracoa and Guantanamo. According to a local media report, three of the deceased were from Cuba, two from Argentina, one from Germany and one from France. Global Affairs Canada said it was aware of reports of the crash and confirmed no Canadians were among those who died. Radio Guantanamo in Cuba reported that driver lost control on the wet and winding road.
