Figures from St Patrick’s Mental Health Services’ Annual Attitudes to Mental Health and Stigma Survey show 88 per cent believe there is a worrying amount of anxiety in society. 80 per cent believe social media and smartphone use is associated with mental health difficulties among children. Speaking about this year’s findings, Paul Gilligan, CEO, St Patrick’s Mental Health Services, said: “St Patrick’s Mental Health Services’ annual Attitudes to Mental Health and Stigma Survey has been carried out for over a decade and illustrates positive long-term shifts in attitudes toward mental health.
