At least eight countries offer incentives to attract residents. Across Asia, Europe and America, countries have found a new way to navigate this by attracting new residents. The authorities pay 20,000 Swiss Francs (KSh 3.2 million) to adults under 45 willing to make the move there. The Greek island of Antikythera is home to about 24 residents, but the population swells up to 40 during the summer. Today, through Antikythera's Paid Relocation Initiative, families willing to live there are paid $20,000 (KSh 2.5 million).
