BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Eight persons including four minors were rushed to a hospital after they fell from a hanging bridge in Kabankalan, Negros Occidental yesterday. One of the four minors suffered a fractured arm. Elbert Javellana, chief of the city disaster risk reduction management council, told journalists that the bridge was 30 years old. He said there could have been too many people on the bridge and the weight caused the cables to snap. Aside from the hanging bridge, Zayco said a P126-million bridge inaugurated two years ago is being used by residents and motorists.
