Mississippi’s “religious freedom” bill is part of a campaign being waged against the LGBT community in Southern states. ADVERTISEMENTIt’s a watershed year fraught with turmoil for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. I’m more familiar with the African American Civil Rights movement than I am with the LGBT civil rights movement. The primary implication to me has been the systemic disparagement of the LGBT community.
