TOKYO—A member of the Japanese organizing committee for the Tokyo Olympics said he had contracted the new coronavirus, as senior Japanese officials restated their intention to proceed with the summer Games. Kozo Tashima, a member of the committee’s executive board, said he experienced a mild fever on Sunday after returning from a trip to Europe and the U.S. On Tuesday, a test result confirmed he had the virus.
