With one year to go until the U.K. leaves the European Union, the best that can be said for Brexit is that so far things haven’t turned out quite as bad as feared. Never mind that the economy has slumped from close to the top of the advanced-economy growth league to the bottom. At least Britain’s economy has grown by 1.7% in 2017 and unemployment fell, contrary to some of the bleaker pre-referendum forecasts. Of course, that is partly due to the strength of the eurozone economy, which outperformed similarly gloomy forecasts....
