Her inclusion in this prestigious list is attributable to numerous achievements, chiefly among which is her exemplary response to the Rohingya crisis -- Bangladesh has given shelter to, fed, and taken care of the massive Rohingya populated that has fled to our side of the border following ethnic cleansing operations by the Myanmar army in the Rakhine state. It is good to see, then, that top notch publications around the world are taking recognizing the stellar example of statesmanship that the prime minister has set, and how she continues to make difficult decisions every day. Bangladesh, in the past few years, has made great strides economically in a variety of sectors, and because of this, we are on the cusp of realizing the dream of finally shedding the LDC tag and becoming a developing country. There is no denying that Bangladesh is becoming a major player in the world, not just in the defense and security front, but also economically, and for that, the world is taking note.
