The city stopped mailing out tickets for speeding violations back on Sept. 21, as per government of Alberta orders — due to the Canada Post strikes — and resumed mailouts on Dec. 3. The City of Edmonton is in the process of mailing out 112,000 speeding tickets dating back to September. ( Kevin Tuong / StarMetro Edmonton File )That two-and-a-half-month delay created a backlog of 112,000 speeding tickets, which are being sent out now. The city can only print a maximum of 3,800 per day, so motorists can look forward to receiving months-old speeding tickets any time between now and February. Albertans who get photo radar tickets for offences that occurred while mailing was suspended will have a minimum of 21 days to respond.
