The song ‘A Woman’s Heart’ spearheaded the discovery that Ireland had in its mist an array of talented female artists. All this was courtesy of the encapsulating song penned by Eleanor McEvoy some years earlier when things were not so good in her life. Eleanor explains the story behind that iconic song, ‘A Woman’s Heart’. The recording was done very quickly with my band, Mary Black and myself on vocals.”Sales of ‘A Woman’s Heart’ took off. Writing songs about your own life experience, a marriage break-up and a bereavement all around the same time was difficult.”Eleanor’s song writing has helped her navigate the ‘lows’ in her life, with a rich variety of music, their themes and stories which has broadened her appeal to the public.
