The AAP is the second party in Manipur coming out to support Sharmila. "Sharmila told us that she has not changed her mind on contesting the elections as an Independent candidate. (See Metro) The party submitted a written request to Sharmila, who also spoke to a senior AAP leader based in Delhi on Manihar's mobile phone. Sharmila had rejected a similar request from the AAP, which wanted her to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Inner Manipur constituency.
