When I observed my current dog's litter, it was easy to spot the most dominant puppy in that group. With some dogs, if you're a soft leader, it really won't make much difference because those dogs are more on the submissive end of the scale. Even a submissive dog may find that one family member they can outrank. My current dog Tillie is the most dominant dog I have ever had. But if we establish ourselves as the pack leader, even a dominant dog will come to respect us and be trustworthy and obedient.
