An explosion has been heard in western Tehran as electricity cut out in a city suburb, in yet another blast to rock Iran in recent weeks. IRIB said power was cut in the area of the city suburbs where the explosion happened. The newspaper added the mayor of nearby town Garmdareh claims residents heard an explosion at a factory making gas cylinders. On July 2, the country's atomic energy agency reported that an 'accident' had damaged warehouses under construction at the Natanz nuclear site, around 150 miles south of Tehran. Parchin is a site suspected of having hosted conventional explosion tests applicable to nuclear power, which the Islamic republic denies.
