Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairperson of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), held talks, on Tuesday, with Jules Banza Mwilambwe, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to explore avenues for strengthening cooperation across industrial, defence, and development sectors. The Congolese delegation, which included senior officials, was received in the presence of Kasongo Musenga Jean-Baptiste, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Cairo. During the meeting, both sides reviewed opportunities to leverage AOI’s advanced manufacturing capabilities to support development projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, alongside cooperation in defence and security industries. For his part, Mwilambwe expressed his country’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Egypt across industrial and development fields, describing AOI as a key industrial arm of the Egyptian state. The visit included a tour of AOI’s product exhibition, where the Congolese delegation was briefed on the organisation’s manufacturing capabilities and diverse product portfolio.
