This comes in the midst of increasing allegation of electoral fraud and irregularity that threatens the stability of the country. ECOWAS leaders Alasane Outtara of Ivory Coast has reportedly been fingered as being behind the scheme to scuttle a George Weah victory as reflected in the October 10th first ballot. These run counter to the popular decision of Liberians who are predisposed to a change that would usher in a George Weah Presidency. Sources say ECOWAS leaders are working on a covert scheme to prevent a Weah Presidency because they have financial interest in the country and are wary about a Weah government linked to former President Charles Taylor. Already the mood of the country is one of apprehension and by all indication any effort to reverse a Weah victory as reflected in the first ballot can rebound.
