The Abia State Government has raised an alarm over an alleged plan by certain political actors to sponsor a protest aimed at destabilizing the state. Ekeoma reiterated that it had earlier clarified that federal refunds for such projects had been discontinued. “The government warns that such actions may be part of efforts to create instability in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections. The government also urged parents and guardians to advise their children and wards against participating in any politically motivated protests that could jeopardize their safety. It assured residents that it remains committed to maintaining peace, security, and an open political environment where individuals can freely pursue their political ambitions without fear or intimidation.
