General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Tilvin Silva today stated that if the current patterns are continued for the construction of the Port City, businesses activities and other transactions will turn black money into white money. He stated that the activities of the Port City would be detrimental to politics and the development of the country. He revealed that the President was appointed by two thirds majority of the country in the hope that the President would not sell off parts of the country, but his decisions regarding the Port City proves that he is not such a person. Silva stated that the biggest problem with regards to the Port City is that the decisions taken on it will only be done by a Committee as it is not under the rules of the State. He stated that therefore, it will function as a separate entity and would cause problems in the near future.
