KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actor Sharnaaz Ahmad (pix) was fined RM1,200 after he pleaded guilty to punching a Bangladeshi man at a golf club here. The 32-year-old actor, whose full name is Sharnaaz Ahmad Bazir Ahmad, admitted to punching Gous Ali on his face at Level 1, TPC KL, Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club, where the victim worked. Sharnaaz's lawyer Zulkifli Awang urged the magistrate's court to mete out a lenient sentence as the actor was remorseful. DPP Nur Farah Adilah Noordin, however, asked the court to impose a sentence that would serve as a lesson to the accused. Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som imposed a RM1,200 fine which was paid by the actor.
