ASHEVILLE - The owners of Addissae first announced in May they would not reopen Asheville's first Ethiopian restaurant, citing their ages and the challenges of COVID-19. "Or perhaps someone would like to take over our attractive, cozy space and create their own business vision." That vision has come to fruition, with new owners stepping in to reopen the restaurant at 11 a.m. Oct. 7 for takeout only. Addissae serves traditional Ethiopian food in a family-style format with local produce and meat when possible. Addissae is at 48 Commerce St.___Mackensy Lunsford has lived in Asheville for more than 20 years, and has been a staff writer for the Asheville Citizen Times since 2012.
