Address ‘longstanding demands’ of Baloch people, India tells Pakistan

India on Sunday (February 1, 2026) refuted Islamabad’s allegation of being linked to a series of attacks by the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) during the weekend and urged Pakistan to address “long-standing demands” of Baloch rebels. “India is behind these attacks,” Mr. Naqvi had said in a press conference in Quetta on Saturday (January 31, 2026). BLA’s spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said in a mail to the media that the wave of violence is part of so called ‘Operation Herof 2’ and that the operation has continued for more than 15 hours. On Sunday (February 1, 2026), Mr. Jeeyand Baloch claimed that the BLA’s fighters have established position in Pakistan military’s camp in Noshki, located in southwest Quetta. Mr. Jeeyand Baloch further said that BLA’s fighters had managed to establish a temporary blockade on the coastal highway of Balochistan disrupting smooth movement.
