Sports giant Adidas said it has permanently banned the use of fur, in a boost for the Mirror’s campaign. The brand joins a growing list of high-street names including H&M, Next, M&S and Asos which have pledged to be fur free as concerns over animal welfare grow. The decision comes after more than a dozen European countries have introduced fur farming bans, including Norway, Belgium and The Netherlands. The UK closed the last fur farm in 2003 on cruelty grounds but imports are still legal. Frank Henke, senior vice president, sustainability at Adidas, said: “Adidas is driving the topic of sustainability in all areas.
