Afenyo Markin said the minister knows the substance of the matter but had acted as if he did not. He urged that the referral proceed and offered to make himself available for a public hearing to resolve the issue. Afenyo Markin’s remarks comes after the interior minister requested the referral in response to the Minority’s claims about recruitment in the security services that reportedly involve a senior government official. The Privileges Committee will now consider whether to hold a public hearing to determine any further action.
