The Forum has been going for 24 years and has a reputation for being the most important gathering of decision-makers in African energy. Attended by the most credible organisations in the African energy sector, the Forum facilitated partnerships and identified opportunities to move the industry forward while tackling the continent’s biggest energy obstacles and postulating solutions and remedies. Kenya has an energy mix that boasts 94% renewable energy and is strong in geothermal, wind energy and hydro. In February 2022, South Africa announced plans to support a pipeline of green hydrogen projects worth billions over the next decade.
