An Alberta high school teacher is worried about how health officials will monitor the spread of COVID-19 once students are back in school, after his family waited more than a week to hear from a contact tracer after testing positive. And on Monday, their two-year-old daughter's test came back positive as well, despite the child not showing any symptoms. "She was told that she would be hearing from someone about three-to-four days regarding the contact tracing. McRae said the contact tracer told his partner that Alberta Health Services is working to clear a backlog, but that she personally has spoken to COVID-19 positive patients for contact tracing after their quarantine was already over. AHS didn't say what it's current turnaround time for contact tracing is, but in late July, an AHS spokesperson had said the province was aiming to complete investigations within 48 hours and was not quite hitting those targets.
