Hundreds of people in Cape Breton who were unexpectedly laid off three weeks before Christmas are returning to their former positions under new management at the Sydney Call Centre. "It was definitely a great way to bring in the new year," said Chauncey Sullivan, who worked at ServiCom for three years. Riley said some other former ServiCom employees are still in talks with the company or are working at another call centre. Most former ServiCom employees have returned to work. MCI had been in negotiations to buy the call centre in the weeks before ServiCom declared bankruptcy.
