The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), in partnership with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), on Wednesday, empowered 150 rice farmers with improved rice seeds and other farm inputs in Edo State. Babangida noted that 150 smallholder farmers were selected from each of the benefiting states to cultivate one hectare of rice farms each. Omoragbon disclosed that the farmers were selected by the Edo ADP in collaboration with FMARD state office from among the Edo chapter of rice farmers association. In his remarks, the Acting Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Peter Aikhuomobhogbe, commended the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for the kind gesture.
