Rajasthan’s excise department has cracked a whip on illegal liquor trade in 6 districts of the state which are close to Gujarat. The network was unearthed by the officials while they were on duty to keep a tab on liquor trade in the state ahead of elections in Gujarat. Sources revealed that a truck carrying illicit liquor was also seized by the department a few days ago while 8 people have been arrested in these 6 districts. Department officials informed that they have been asked to keep a tab on illicit liquor going to Gujarat and 6 check posts have also been established along with 6 mobile parties which have been designated to prevent any illicit liquor transport to Gujarat. Meanwhile, a review of law and order and liquor related activities was done by election commission on Tuesday.
