Ahmed Jamal appointed as deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank


Prior to his new assignment, he served the central bank as an executive director. In December, the government formed a search panel to appoint deputy governors, which then forwarded its recommendations to the government. The two other deputy governors are Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan and SM Moniruzzaman. Jamal, who hails from Kushtia, joined Bangladesh Bank as an assistant director in 1984 after graduating in accounting from Rajshahi University. Chowdhury now serves as an adviser to the central bank.
